The armoured car Personterrängbil 6 (type RG32) nicknamed "Galten" are now beeing issued to the Swedish-Finnish OMLT-forces at Camp Mike Spann near Mazar-e-Sharif, Afghanistan. There are aproximately 15 RG32 serving the Swedish forces in Afghanistan now and a further 20 cars are to be shipped within 2009.
When Sweden sent forces to Afghanistan in 2002, the security situation was different than it is now, and regular 4x4 cars was used. The more hostile environment has created a demand for armoured equipment. APCs and UAVs has also been shipped to Afghanistan.
