The Norwegian Cavalry was founded on the 23. of April 1663, and is therefore one of the oldest cavalry units in the world. The dragoons came from large farms, and served as a part of the farmer's tax. Norway is populated of 4.900.000 citizens. Norway is a member of NATO, but not the EU.

Sweden

Sweden has the most modern tank fleet in the world, with their Leopard 2 Improved. Sweden also produce their own tanks, infantry fighting vehicles, handguns, artillery, fighter planes and so on. Sweden is populated with 9.400.000 citizens, are a neutral contry, member of the EU.

Denmark

Denmark has no military industry, and rely on foreign import. Their primary tank is the Leopard 2. Most of the equipment is imported from NATO-countries. Denmark is a member of NATO and the EU. Denmark is populated of 5.500.000 citizens

Contract for CROWS programme

CROWS.ashxKONGSBERG has booked an order valued at NOK 1,1 billion from the US Army. The order is part of the NOK 8 billion Common Remotely Operated Weapon Stations (CROWS) framework agreement signed in August 2007.

CROWS is a joint acquisition programme for weapon stations for the US Army`s vehicle programmes. A common solution will result in substantial efficiency gains in respect of protection, training, support and further development.

Kongsberg Defence & Aerospace (KDA) is one of two operating companies of Kongsberg Gruppen (KOG) of Norway, is a supplier of defence and space related systems and products, mainly anti-ship missiles, military communications, and command and weapons control systems for naval vessels and air-defence applications. Today, the company is probably best known abroad for its development/industrialisation and production of the first passive IR homing anti-ship missile of the western world, the Penguin, starting delivery in the early 1970s (when KDA was part of KOG's predecessor Kongsberg Våpenfabrikk). The latest product which attracts huge interest is the PROTECTOR M151 Remote Weapon Station which is fielded by the US Army (main armament of the Stryker ICV Vehicle), the Canadian Army and the Australian Army. As of 2005, Kongsberg Defence & Aerospace had 1,421 employees.
