Danish Infantry fighting vehicles
Denmark has only one type of IFV. Althoug it's not actually an IFV, but an IFSV - Infantry Fire Support Vehicle. Denmark will purhaps buy an IFV in 2004, and most likely it will be the CV9030 (in Norwegian service), og the CV9040 (Swedish).

  Pansret Maskinkanon PNMK M/92 - M113A2 "Wildcat"

The M92 is the only armored vehicle that is "built" in Denmark. It is assembled in Odense by E. Falck Schmidt. The vehicle is an American M113, and the turret is made by the Italian Oto Melara (who also manufactured Leopard tanks under licence). The vehicle entered service in 1992. The "Wildcat" is armed with a 25 mm Oerlikon-Contraves machine-cannon ranging up to 1.500 m, 600 rpm and a German 7.62 mm machine-gun.

The Wildcat have a Zeiss thermal sight. The latest A2 version have a more powerful turbo-charged engine, improved suspension and improved cooling- and heating-system.

When implemented at the IFOR/SFOR forces in the former Yugoslavia, 6 Wildcats were retrofitted with "add-on armour". The up-armored version can resist fire from weapons up to 14.5 mm at at range down to 100 m.

The "Wildcat"-nickname was used in the first stages of the project, but it was never officially adopted. The soldiers using it has nick named it "maskinkanin" (machine rabbit), wich is spelled similar to "maskinkanon" (machine cannon).

The IFV are based on the M113
