At the Cavalry Officer Academy (BSK), young Norwegians receive
their officer training for one of the four branches in the
cavalry (tank, storm, recon or anti-tank). The education takes
a year, and you come out from the school as a sergeant. Then
you have to serve one year before you automatically become
a second leutenant. After thet you can enter "Krigskolen"
(The War Academy).
After the war, BSK had it base at Trandum. Due to the expanding
of Gardermoen Airport, the academy had to move. BSK found
a new site at Rena in Østerdalen, and the Cavalry now
has the most modern facilities in the Norwegian Army.

"SE" in the BSK patch means "Skole-
eskadronen", or "The school company".

Rena Camp is a modern camp. The buildings are made of concrete
and classis Norwegian Østerdal-style wooden panels.
Compared to the US Armor camp, the Fort Knox, Rena is open,
and free for everyone to enter. The only closed area is the
facility belonging to "Hærens Jegerkommando"
(special forces), and the "Forsvarets Spesial Kommando"
(anti terror).
