The spearhead of the Swedish army is the Stridsvagn 122 (Leopard 2A6). This is a fully digitized battle machine featuring a 120mm smoothbore gun, independent commander sight, substantional additional armor comopared to a regular Leopard 2, also on the turret roof, fully digitized control- comunication and comand unit and so on.

Sweden has a massive military industry with Hägglunds and Bofors as the largest. Sweden has a long tradition of producing it's own military equipment. In the recent years, Sweden has saved a lot of money buing used former Eastern German equipment. This is armoured personell carriers and infantry fighting vehicle for the army units.
