The armored vehicle-launched bridge is launched from the launching
vehicle. The vehicle is a converted main battle tank T 55.
The bridging system has been developed and produced within
the former Warsaw Pact. The T55 is originaly an old Russian
made tank. This bridge vehicle is to substitute Brobandvagn
941. The bridge is a scissors type, which exposes the bridge
at a high altitude when laying. This is not prefered in Nato
countries, where bridges are layed horizontaly.
It takes approx 3 minute to launch the bridge.
Maximum gap is 19 m, MLC(T) at least 55.

The Swedish Army has ordered 104 Finnish-made Patria SISU
6 x 6 wheeled APC's for delivery in the years 2000 to 2002,
in part to replace some of the older Pbv302 tracked APC's.
The Swedish vehicles will be fitted with the 20 mm gun turret
from the Pbv302. There is also an option for an additional
60 vehicles. They are, as far as I know, not classified as
armored personnel carriers but rather as armored transport
vehicles.
Two versions of the SISU have been ordered, the XA-203S (S
for Sweden) general purpose APC and the SISU XA-202S:

The
XA-202S is a command and control vehicle.
The Patria SISU XA-200 series of wheeled vehicles are more
heavily armored than the older XA-180 series. This results
in better protection for the crews (protects against calibers
up to 12.7/14.5 mm) but also means that the XA-200 series
are heavier and no longer are amphibious (fording depth 1.5
m)

The
SISU XA-180 have are used Kosovo. First in UN service, but
now in KFOR service. They have also been a part of the IFOR
and SFOR. They are popular among their crew, partly because
they have proved very resistant to mines. The armor protects
the passengers from splinters and 7.62 mm rounds.
The vehicles are fitted with a wire cutter placed on the
front roof. This protects the crew in open hatches or on top
of the vehicles from wires crossing the road.
It is fully amphibious.
